About our network

Santos GLNG generates its own power via gas turbine electrical power generators located at our hub compressor stations. The power from these generators is distributed to electrical equipment at field sites through an 11 kV overhead electrical distribution system.  Click the following links below to view our high voltage network maps:

When fully completed, the network will consist of approximately 450 km of electrical distribution lines (a combination of 11 kV and 33 kV lines). This electrical transmission infrastructure is constructed above ground with typically 12 to 14 metre high poles, with a maximum height of 18 metres. Spacing between poles is typically 80 to 200 metres. To reduce the impact of the network on the surrounding countryside, approximately 90% of the power lines are constructed in exissting road and pipeline easements.
